IOC Triumph for Indonesia and Europe

A tremendous and dramatic final, witnessed by a capacity audience that included IOC President Juan Antonio Samaranch and IOC Vice-President Marc Hodler, saw Indonesia capture the Generali Trophy for the first time. Eddy Manoppo, Henky Lasut, Denny Sacul & Franky Karwur will take it home to Bali, where they will hope to add a Bermuda Bowl in one years time, when Indonesia plays host to the 2001 World Championships.

Indonesia Capture the Trophy

By virtue of a substantial victory in the third of their four matches, Europe defeated North America in the Women's match. The winning team was Pony Nehmert, Andrea Rauscheid, Anne Lill Helleman, Anna Malinowski, Jet Pasman, Anneke Simons, Véroniqué Bessis & Catherine d'Ovidio, who repeated the European victory of last year.
