1st World Schools Team Championship

• Format

The two biggest WBF zones (Europe & N.America) have declared that they will be represented in the inaugural competition. Each zone will participate with three teams.

A round robin will be played, with the final classification depending on the total number of VPs won. Each of the five matches will be played over 24 boards, in two halves.

Computer dealt hands, bid boxes and screens will be used.

• Systems

All systems of bidding and card play must comply with the WBF Systems Policy. The Championship is a Category 3 event; therefore HUM systems and Brown Sticker conventions are not allowed.

Each pair is required to complete an official Convention Card and lodge it with the Chairman of the Appeals Committee by June 30, 2004, at joanandron@worldnet.att.net (email of Joan Gerard)

• Prizes

The winners of the Championship will receive the WBF Schools Trophy (to keep until the next event) as well as replicas for each player and the non-playing captain. Souvenir gifts will be given to the first three teams.

Master Points will be awarded in accordance with the WBF Master Points plan.
