As usual, the Grand Prix will be held at the Olympic Museum in Lausanne, Switzerland.

The Opening Ceremony will take place at 18.00 hrs on Monday 30 October 2000, and the event will be concluded with the Prize-Giving Ceremony at 19.30 hrs on Friday 3 November 2000.

IOC Vice President Marc Hodler will present the IOC cups and medals.

The Open Teams of China, France, Indonesia, Italy, Poland and USA have been invited to participate in the event.

The format will be a round robin (all against all) of 24-board matches. The first four teams will qualify for the semifinals. The winners of the semifinals will meet in the final, while the losers will contest the 3rd place playoff.

There will also be a Women's Contest in which a European Team will face a North American Team.
