WORLD YOUTH CONGRESS

This is a new concept of massive youth competitions inaugurated in 2009 and held biennially on odd-numbered years.

The World Youth Congress comprises the World Youth Teams, World Youth Pairs and World Youth Individual competitions, held in two series (under 26 & under 21) if entries permit.

All young players are eligible to participate, in all these events in national or transnational combinations. There are no national quotas.

The World Youth Congress is the generalization of the World Youth Pairs Championships, inaugurated in Ghent, Belgium in 1995 (the 'under 21' series was added in 2006 in Piestany, Slovakia), and the World Junior Individual Championship, launched in 2004 in New York, USA.
