Championship Diary

Surprisingly we have another story concerning England's Kitty Teltscher. Taking advantage of the fact that her partner, Sally Brock, was declarer, having found a caddy to turn the dummy she took some 'personal time'.

When Sally, having to play from dummy called 'small' the caddy came through the screen to say 'they are all the same size, which one?'

A couple of tricks later Sally asked for the ace - 'Which one?' asked the caddy.

When that was explained he replied 'This is the first time I've played Bridge - it's fun!'

When Brian Senior was in need of some 'personal time' he armed himself with a copy of the Daily Bulletin (soft, strong and thoroughly absorbent). Unfortunately the part of the building he was visiting uses a motion sensor lighting system and he was cut off in mid stream so to speak.

Brian Senior - apologies for mentioning him twice - overheard a conversation concerning the value of a singleton king. 'Worth six points', he said, 'three for the king and three for the ruffing value.'

'It's worth even more in no trumps' said Tacchi.
