• Format

The Mixed Pairs Championship consists of three qualifying sessions and three final sessions.

The Rosenblum Knockout Teams and the McConnell Knockout Teams will be played in three stages. In the first stage, participants will be divided into groups of 11, 12, 13 or 14 teams; a Round Robin will be played to reduce the field to 64 and 32 teams respectively. A second stage of a straight knockout will follow, and the Championships will be concluded with the quarterfinals, semifinals and final/playoff. All teams are guaranteed of 3 full days of play in these events.

The Open Pairs Championship and the Women Pairs Championship are match pointed events, with 5 qualifying sessions, 5 semifinal sessions and 5 final sessions.

Note: due to the unavailability of Pietro Bernasconi's assistant Bachar Abouchanab, the Par Contest is postponed. There are plans of holding it at a later date, possibly in September 2006.

Players reserving their hotel rooms through the Championships' official travel agency, HPT, are entitled to a 20% discount on the entry fees.
