After a day when several teams met with mixed fortunes, USA I has moved to the top of the table. However, the performance of the day belonged to Israel who defeated Norway, China and Canada in turn to move into second place, just one point behind the USA team. The previously unbeaten Canadians failed to win a match and are now tied for third place with Thailand. The Netherlands dropped to fifth but they are only four points away from fourth place and they have a 9.5 VP lead over Denmark. China and Norway are now seventh and eighth.

Further down the table Argentina had an excellent day, winning all three matches and in the opening match of the day CAC managed to amass 109 IMPs against New Zealand, who now seem assured of the wooden spoon.

The leaders will have a chance to prove their credentials today as they face China, Canada and Denmark in what should prove to be three exciting matches.
