Regulation for Bermuda Bowl (BB), Venice Cup (VC)
and Senior Bowl (SB) for 2005

In accordance with a decision of the World Bridge Federation Executive Council, the following Regulation shall apply only to the BB, VC and SB for 2005 and shall not be applicable to such competition subsequent to said Championships.

1. Zones may send the following number of teams for participation in the BB, VC and SB:

2. The host country (Portugal) may send a team to both the BB and VC ex-quota of (1) above as well as the Senior Bowl.
3. In the event of an odd number of teams entered as set forth above, Zone 1 shall be awarded an additional team to either or all events to result in an even number of teams.
4. Zone 2 may not send more than two (2) teams from the USA.
5. Zones may not send teams from countries which did not participate in the 2004 World Bridge Team Olympiad in the respective event, i.e., Open = BB and Women’s = VC.
6. Zones may not send teams whose NBOs have not declared, by 1st July 2005 at the latest, their membership numbers based on either the current figures or those of 2000, whichever is the greater number and its dues being current.
7. A Zone may not send any teams unless it has submitted to the WBF an accurate statement of its member NBOs and membership for each. The NBOs participating are also requested to send their yearly reports to the WBF.
8. A Zone may send teams comprised solely of members of an individual NBO, i.e., no transnational teams are permitted.
9. It is the intent of the Executive Council to possibly reduce the allocation of the teams to Zones for the 2007 BB and VC unless the registered and paid membership of the Zone exceeds the following figures by March 30, 2006.

10. Junior membership must be included (free of charge) in these figures divided in Juniors up to 25 and school pupils under 20. The WBF will take into consideration these figures as well as the participation of Zones and NBOs in: the Schools Championships, the World Junior Teams and Pairs Championship and the University Championships.
11. Entry fees
 
Bermuda Bowl, Venice Cup & Senior Bowl
  US$4,700 minus US$1,200 per team staying in the designated hotels = US$3,500
Transnational Open Teams
  4 new players - $1,250 or €1,000 per team less $250 or €200 for those staying in designated hotels.
